Event Name CPE Program - Expecting the Unexpected – The role of Next Gen IT Security Manager”
Event Details Crystal Ball gazing on the role of the Next Generation IT Security Manager has happened in many forums. Each of these attempts has focused on emerging technological horizon and surmised that the Next Gen IT Security Manager should get ready for embracing those emerging technologies. There are quite a few factors beyond adoption of emerging technologies that will distinguish the successful Next Gen IT Security Manager from his unfortunate unsuccessful peers. In a nutshell, the success will come to those who will consciously plan to expect the unexpected. This is not to be handled through premonition but through a structured process that includes, inter alia, a revisit to the way risk is embedded into the security management system; evaluating and adapting to the changing demands on the roles to be played by the Next Gen IT Security Manager; and a recognition that security transcends technology. Managing a scenario where security transcends technology involves understanding and implementing human driven and process oriented solutions alongside new technologies and deploy a continuous process to manage the unexpected. This session will consider the scenario described above and present the profile of the Next Gen IT Security Manager
